After what seemed like a decade, but was really only a couple months, the gears are once again turning for racing series around the country.  The USPKS, presented by IAME USA East and MG Tires, is no exception.

The Season opener was supposed to happen back in March, at Ocala Gran Prix in Ocala, FL, but closures due to the pandemic, forced it to be postponed.  So we all looked forward to the next scheduled event, which was scheduled for June at GoPro Motorplex, but much to everyone’s disappointment, that one also had to be postponed due to attendance limits.  The good news is that a number of tracks have now received permission to begin hosting races, and that has allowed us to move forward with a higher degree of confidence.

Race weekend number three was scheduled to be July 16-19 at New Castle Motorsports Park, but now that event will be our season opener.  The staff at NCMP has done an outstanding job of getting Indiana officials on their side and gaining permission to open once again.  We are looking forward to opening there, rather than closing there for the first time in quite awhile.  Everyone who was pre-entered for Ocala will be automatically entered for New Castle.  If you are coming, great, there is nothing you need to do, other than show up and be ready to race.  If you are unable to make it to NCMP that weekend, let us know by emailing Series Administrator Tim Koyen at tekoyen@gmail.com, so we can transfer your entry to the next event.

For those that are not already entered, we are asking that everyone enter online, rather than at the track.  This will keep person to person contact down a bit.  Online registration for NCMP will be opening soon, so keep watching.  We will also be posting the entry list soon, in case you can’t remember if you entered for Ocala.

There will be optional track operated Thursday practice at NCMP (not included in your entry fee), Official USPKS practice on Friday (included in your entry fee), and full programs of racing Saturday and Sunday.

Event #2 on the “new” 2020 schedule is now going to be at the CTECH Manufacturing Motorplex, located inside the famed Road America facility in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.  This will take place September 3-6.  The season finale will be at GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville, NC, October 23-25 UPDATED: GoPro race date is now October 15-18.
