Response to the Southern Gran Prix at Ocala Gran Prix has been unprecedented. Pre-entries thus far have blown the previous event record out of the water, with 254 drivers entered, as of this posting. Because of this popularity, we have been forced to cap all sessions at the safe track limit of 36. Micro Swift, X30 Pro Sr, and X30 Masters are capped at 36 entries, as they are the 3 smallest classes right now. Mini Swift, X30 Pro Jr, KA100 Jr, and KA100 Sr are all capped at 72 entries, and will feature split prefinals and an LCQ. A new tentative timeline has been uploaded to the Series website to reflect the new program. It is possible that limits are not exceeded in some classes as expected, in which case they will revert back to a single track session, and a new schedule will be published.
Registration for the March 11-14 event is open until Midnight Saturday March 6th. Anyone who knows they are coming should get registered immediately, as we expect to sellout some classes prior to the event. Walkup entries will only be accepted in classes with room under the caps. To register, simply click on the link in the upper right hand corner of this page that says “Register Now!” The new timeline can be accessed from the event page, or by clicking the link below.
Also, due to the large crowds expected, OGP has expanded the Wednesday parking hours, and are now starting at 9am and going to 6pm. If you haven’t reserved parking yet by contacting OGP directly, it is getting late and the paddock is nearly full, so we encourage you to do so quickly.
